UCLA Opens New State-of-the-Art Online Volunteer Center

UCLA has launched an online Volunteer Center that will use new developments in internet technology to bring users together with opportunities for volunteer participation and tools to help citizens become more involved in society.

“We are building a community of heroes,” said UCLA Volunteer Center Executive Director Antoinette Mongelli. “The new online volunteer center is a powerful platform to link students, alumni, staff, faculty, parents, and friends in the community with thousands of opportunities to make a difference. Everyone is invited to join us.”

The UCLA Volunteer Center, which is open to everyone, includes a broad range of features and services that link users with individual volunteer projects and broad programs.

“We have set a heroic goal to inspire all citizens to participate in at least one volunteer project a month,” said volunteer center director David Bloome. “We are creating a model program that other universities can follow as we transform ourselves into a nation of participants.”
